Piaget is a watch brand known for its graceful touches and the unique way it combines a fragile aspect with powerful materials. It has set numerous thinness records in the past years. The company has created 25 super-slim movements, from which 14 hold the world record in their category.
And it's preparing to set a new record with the world's thinnest hand-wound flyback chronograph on the new Piaget Altiplano Chronograph. It will have its debut in January at the 2015 SIHH.
The truth is that Piaget Altiplano Chronograph comes with two new surprises on the slim subject, having an only 4.65 mm thickness for the movement and 8.24 mm for the case. The team have worked two years in developing this movement, managing to add to the movement a fifty hour power reserve.
Piaget Altiplano Chronograph has an 883P Caliber (produced from the 880P one) and its essential pieces are “ultra-thin” : the cannon-pinion has .12 mm, the chronograph gear finger .06 mm and the barrel staff .115 mm.
The three chronograph counters are displayed in this manner: the 24 hour one at 9 o'click, the 30 minutes counter at 3 o'clock and the small seconds in the low part, at 6 o'clock.
We assure you won't regret if you booked your ticket for the 2015 SIHH, as the elegant Piaget Altiplano Chronograph isn't the only unique item displayed.
